Mumbai/Navi Mumbai
India's largest planned city, and its next commercial powerhouse.
Navi Mumbai is the world's largest planned city, conceptualised in the 1970s by CIDCO (City and Industrial Development Corporation) to decongest Mumbai. Developed across 14 nodes (Airoli, Kopar Khairane, Vashi, Sanpada, Nerul, Belapur, Kharghar, and others), the city operates on a planned grid with dedicated commercial, residential, and industrial zones. Today, Navi Mumbai hosts the Indian operations of Reliance Industries, Accenture, Capgemini, Wipro, TCS, L&T Infotech, UBS, Jacobs Engineering, and over 100 major corporates.
