OMR, officially Rajiv Gandhi Salai (SH-49A), but universally known by its original name, is the most important commercial corridor in South India for the technology industry. The 45 km road begins at Madhya Kailash Temple on Sardar Patel Road in Adyar, runs due south through Taramani, Perungudi, Sholinganallur, Siruseri, and on to Mahabalipuram. It contains TIDEL Park, Ramanujan IT City (Intellion Park), RMZ Millenia, SP Infocity, WTC Chennai, and the original IT park cluster. Premium Grade A rents, proximity to the city, and existing MRTS rail connectivity make this the most expensive segment of OMR. Post-Toll OMR (Perungudi to Siruseri): Classified as Peripheral Business District (PBD).
